Learning from Defeat
In multiplayer games of Age of Empires 2, things do not always turn out for the best. Losing is a fact of life and can be looked upon as a learning experience. Recorded games allow you to take step back and review how your game went and why you lost or won. You can set a game for recording as the host by selecting the Record Game option. However, this tends to slow the game somewhat with the increased load.
Load the recorded game and take a look. Switch perspectives among the players to see what they did differently. You can pick up a thing or two by watching what others do. Also, you can figure out what went wrong during a loss and how you could have prevented it. Remember to once in a while to take a look into your pile of recorded games as it can be a rewarding and learning experience.
